About Elizabeth & Ewing Sarcoma
About Elizabeth
Elizabeth has always been fun and fearless. At age 5 she started asking to take gymnastics and to learn how to play the violin. She has developed both talents throughout her life, being a part of elite orchestra at her Jr High School and spending years thriving in competitive gymnastics. (Yes, that is Elizabeth doing the aerial in the picture.)
At the start of 8th grade, Elizabeth was ready for a new adventure in gymnastics and was introduced to the beautiful sport of horse vaulting, which is dance and gymnastics on the back of a moving horse.
She was only able to participate in a few horse vaulting competitions before Covid hit. In addition to being active, Elizabeth has been a good student and developed many creative talents. She started decorating cakes in junior high and spent many of the early months of the Covid pandemic turning out an awesome variety of cakes—from unicorns and foxes to Halloween and Christmas themed—they looked so good it was hard to eat them.
Elizabeth also has a knack for hair styling. She mastered all sorts of braids and up-dos on her dolls at an early age and will still do these on her sisters. She had been hoping to participate in the cosmetology program through her high school during her senior year.
Elizabeth found new hobbies when cancer shifted her physical abilities. Her cousin informed her that he was going to “train” her in video games when she lived in Seattle, and she was all in! She has always enjoyed music and art, and these have become a major part of her life in the last few years as well.
She attended her first concert, Harry Styles, last October and has since been to see Louis Tomlinson and Olivia Rodrigo in concert as well. Getting to see Taylor Swift in concert is the BIG DREAM!
Elizabeth spends a lot of her time at home painting and was fortune to take some painting classes from her very talented aunt for several weeks. Her detailed, stunning paintings are displayed throughout our home.
Elizabeth finds happiness in her dear pets, her parakeets and dog, Max. She also loves to go to movies and attend social events with close friends.
I would say one of her favorite places to be is Universal Studios in Orlando. She loves thrilling rides and the magic of Harry Potter World—it all encapsulates the fun and fearless that is Elizabeth.
She continues to dream fearlessly, with a goal to finish high school and get a college degree in psychology and keeps life fun amidst such heavy challenges.
Please join us in our fight to enable Elizabeth reaching her dreams by helping us fund the promising research that aims to cure Ewing’s Sarcoma.

A message from her mother
"I feel like Little Warrior Foundation deserves special attention in the cancer world because #1, it's focused funding research on a pediatric cancer and #2 it's focused funding on a rare variety of cancer that gets very little research attention in the cancer world.
I'll explain... Just today I was reading an article in BYU magazine about cancer research in which it was stated "cancer-associated fibroblasts...produce a unique protein found in 90% of all cancers...." There is amazing treatment and progress in attacking cancer through these fibroblasts, but Elizabeth's cancer is in the 10% of cancers that does not have these.
Therefore, research is way behind and funding lacking for her type of cancer. This is why Little Warrior Foundation is doing such very critical work! These cancers need attention too! These kids need better treatments and a path to a cure too!"

Elizabeth's Medical Journey
Elizabeth, was diagnosed with metastatic Ewing's Sarcoma in 2020, at age 14. The cancer was in her spine and lungs at diagnosis and she has been fighting this disease for the last three years. Elizabeth has fought her way back from paralysis (caused by the tumor in her back), undergone multiple surgeries, endured over 200 doses of chemo, traveled to Seattle for proton radiation on her spine, had whole lung radiation, and just finished SRBT lung radiation at Huntsman in Salt Lake City. She has endured all of the pain, nausea, fatigue, and countless other miserable side effects that you would expect from these treatments, yet she has stayed positive and determined to carry on with grit and a sense of humor. Elizabeth hopes to be able to participate in an immunotherapy vaccine clinical trial at the Cleveland Clinic, which is being driven by funds from the Little Warrior Foundation.
About Ewing Sarcoma
The is NO CURE for Ewing's Sarcoma, YET! It is a rare childhood bone disease. A difficult thing about rare cancers is that not much is known about how to fight them. Elizabeth's family traveled across the country trying to find any new treatments that will help prolong Elizabeth's life. There have been no new advancements in the fight against Ewing's Sarcoma for over 30 years. But now the Cleveland Clinic is on the brink of a method that would cure it. We need more tools to fight this cancer which is why this fundraiser is so important. The goal is to get Elizabeth into this trial run. The money raised would help fund the research and get Elizabeth to Cleveland. This is truly a once in a lifetime chance.

Here is a video about the vaccines they are working to create. It would be a miracle for the children that suffer from this cancer.
